Fall 2016 Enrollment  

Lumina School opened in Fall 2016 in Downers Grove, Illinois. We are currently enrolling children entering grades 3-4. If you're interested in future enrollment for grades K-1 and 5-8, please contact us.

A Lumina education emphasizing student strengths and hands-on learning may be beneficial for all types of students. However, we are by design focused on students with language-based learning differences such as dyslexia, which is often accompanied by dysgraphia and/or attention deficit disorder. We are not designed for children with primarily emotional and behavioral problems, or children diagnosed with autism. 

As part of the application process, we will review available testing and educational records to be sure we can meet a child's needs. A recent, full neuropsychological examination is not required in every case, but is very helpful and strongly recommended.

Tuition is $15,900 per year, with a $750 deposit due at the time of enrollment. Tuition may be paid in full during the first week of classes, or paid in monthly installments with a small added fee. Monthly payments are due by the end of the first week of each month.

An annual technology fee of $400 is also due before students begin classes.

After submitting your application above, please send a copy of the child’s most recent neuropsychological evaluation, most recent report card, most recent IEP or 504 plan, and, if possible, a statement of recommendation from a current tutor or teacher.

Once we have reviewed your application and supporting materials, we will be in touch. The next step would be an interview, and a student shadowing day if school is in session. If accepted, a non-refundable deposit of $750 is needed to hold a place in class. This amount will be deducted from the yearly tuition.
