Toll Global Express is seeking its first CIO as a stand-alone company following its acquisition by private equity firm Allegro Funds earlier this year.
Allegro Funds took ownership of the company, formerly a division of Toll Group, for $ 500 million in April with the aim of a complete “business separation and transformation” [pdf]
The private equity firm is now driving “an exciting growth strategy” at Toll Global Express with a new management team in place, according to a spokesperson.

“Previously our IT responsibilities were split between supporting the Global Express business and the larger Toll Group team.

While the research is ongoing, former Toll Group IT Director Andrew Gates is stepping in as Interim IT Director, reporting directly to Group CEO Christine Holgate.
Holgate was officially named CEO in May this year after resigning from Australia Post in controversial circumstances following a corporate gifts scandal.
The spokesperson added that Toll Global Express “is looking for strong momentum [technology] leader who has the experience to lead our IT separation from Toll Group ”.
The successful candidate will have “the vision to build our digital future [and the] leadership to develop a world-class IT team “and” play a central role in the broader transformation of the business “.
“Global Express’s mission is to grow our business and meet the changing needs of our customers,” said the spokesperson.
“We have the ambition to be a leader in terms of customer NPS [net promoter score] and we anticipate that our CIO will play a major role in creating the solutions our customers want. “
The spokesperson added that Toll Global Express is working with the Hourigan International recruitment agency “to select the right candidate from a strong external and internal list.”
Toll Group also went through its own changes with Damian Beltrami who took over the role of CTO in November 2020 following the departure of Françoise Russo.
